The day I conquered the treadmill.

Guess who just spent an entire hour on the treadmill? Heck, yeah. I feel close to death. I kept my heartbeat in the range of 140-155 by going 2.2 mph at a 6.5° incline (more or less–I kept making slight adjustments). Yeah. A whole freakin’ hour. Oh, hey, guess what? I burned 325 calories. Nice…?Continue reading “The day I conquered the treadmill.”

When the kitty’s approval is required!

I’ve just bought a home gym. It’s coming in the mail. It’s the Total Gym APEX G3. Here’s a link to it! (Only I bought one for less on eBay. Hoping for the best there!) Check out the one-minute video and see what it’s capable of! I have room for one of these contraptions inContinue reading “When the kitty’s approval is required!”

Exposed to unhealthy eating and family photos.

Dear Amy: I recently decided to move back in with my mom and younger sister for the remainder of the pandemic. The problem is that I find myself thinking extremely unkind things about them, because both of them are overweight. I find myself thinking almost obsessively about how gross I find their bodies and feelingContinue reading “Exposed to unhealthy eating and family photos.”

Unexpected!

Wow. I just had a mindblowing experience pertaining to my weight-loss efforts. Prior to when I quit eating flour, I obtained large quantities of Kodiak waffle mix. So, ever since I went off the flour, the mixes have been sitting there in the kitchen looking forlorn in their large tupperware containers. I gave it aContinue reading “Unexpected!”

Wow. Just, wow.

I’ve been spaced out and completely unfocused lately. I’m not sure why, but maybe my body’s adjusting to the dieting. I’ve stuck with the no-flour diet without relapse since whenever it was that I started it. (A few weeks ago? I have no sense of time.) It’s not hard. There are ample snack foods, butContinue reading “Wow. Just, wow.”

The cycle of shame.

For those of you who are following my diet journey, scroll down past the asterisks! 🙂 That part starts there. Everything before it is too depressing to read anyway. Oh! And, Emilia, you might want to skip this blog post. 🙂 Okay, so Charlie wrote back to me this morning thusly: Meg, We have threeContinue reading “The cycle of shame.”

Slippery like ice!

It’s the end of day four for me of not eating processed sugar or flour. It’s been going great. Today, I lost interest in eating. I normally love to eat, and I miss it, but when you remove processed sugar and flour from what I’m allowed to eat, I’m bored with it. This is hugeContinue reading “Slippery like ice!”

The origin of my food addiction.

TRIGGER WARNING: GENERAL, BROAD DISCUSSION OF PHYSICAL ABUSE (NOTHING TOO GRAPHIC, JUST SOME NONSPECIFIC REFERENCES) I’ve been reading a very enlightening dieting book called Bright Line Eating by Susan Peirce Thompson, PhD. You can follow that link to its Amazon page. It talks about how an addiction can occur if you overindulge in an addictiveContinue reading “The origin of my food addiction.”
