A walk of 15,000 calories begins with a single step!

I’m unhappy with my weight loss efforts thus far. I’ve mostly been sticking to my diet, which includes a long list of healthy lifestyle changes, but I haven’t been losing much weight. And I devoted all of 2021 to athletics but haven’t been to the gym lately. So I’ve recently pledged to burn 15,000 caloriesContinue reading “A walk of 15,000 calories begins with a single step!”

I’m a genie in a bottle!

Darn it all! It’s been eight days since I got the vaccine, and I still can’t do my treadmill routine anymore. I went back and tried, and I got lightheaded. My pulse skyrocketed, so I turned down the speed of the treadmill from 3.2 mph to 2.5 mph (while maintaining the 4° incline). That gotContinue reading “I’m a genie in a bottle!”

Struggling but doing it!

I awoke with a dreadful headache and finally took some pain pills. I’m not sure if I’ll make it to the gym today. It’s becoming harder and harder to go, especially since I haven’t yet conquered the footwear issue. I think my second pair of new shoes (which will hopefully work better than the first)Continue reading “Struggling but doing it!”

When the going gets tough…

So, I hit a wall. (Don’t worry. It was a metaphorical wall.) I decided last night to go ahead and not expect myself to use the treadmill on both Sunday and Wednesday evenings. That way, I can use those times to take twice-weekly showers, and I’ll still be burning 300 calories 12 times a week,Continue reading “When the going gets tough…”

Hell, yes.

Yeah, I’m braindead, but very  proud of myself. I think I started on this treadmill kick last Sunday. (It’s Saturday today, for reference, if you’re reading this in the future.) I spent one hour on the treadmill then, two on Monday, two on Tuesday, one on Wednesday (the day I spent four hours driving toContinue reading “Hell, yes.”

Self-torture is fun! (Not.)

So, I’ve still been spending an hour at a time on the treadmill. I did it once today (and hope to do it again later this evening), twice yesterday, and once the day before. All in all, I’ve burned 1,285 calories. I know I should be proud of that, but I’m concerned that I won’tContinue reading “Self-torture is fun! (Not.)”

The day I conquered the treadmill.

Guess who just spent an entire hour on the treadmill? Heck, yeah. I feel close to death. I kept my heartbeat in the range of 140-155 by going 2.2 mph at a 6.5° incline (more or less–I kept making slight adjustments). Yeah. A whole freakin’ hour. Oh, hey, guess what? I burned 325 calories. Nice…?Continue reading “The day I conquered the treadmill.”

This one goes out to the dishrags in my life…

Hi guys! Here I am. I’ve been lying low for a few days because I’ve been messing with my sedative. I’m trying to take substantially less in hopes of losing weight. Seroquel is extremely sedationary and has a bad reputation for weight gain. I was taking 300 mg but went down to 100 mg whileContinue reading “This one goes out to the dishrags in my life…”

Naughty and out of shape.

[Please scroll down past the asterisks if you wish to skip ahead to my exercising update!] I’ve been writing my series still, and I’m really enjoying it. I know that the traditional way to write a novel is to create conflict, but I prefer to create wish fulfillment. I like to write in a wayContinue reading “Naughty and out of shape.”
