Let’s dazzle!

I’ve won a DAZZLING BLOGGER award!! YAY!! Thank you so much, bosssy babe!! You the bossiest!

The Official Rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for The Dazzling Blogger award.
2. Link back to the original post.
3. Answer the seven questions that they asked on their blog post.
4. Make up seven new questions.
5. Nominate seven more people for The Dazzling Blogger award, who you think exemplifies excellent blogging skills.

Here are bosssy babe’s questions and my answers!

1. Do you have any regrets in your life and if so, what would you say is your biggest regret?

Yeah, I have a lot of regrets! My biggest regret involves the time that my dad, my sister, and I were out on the front porch watching a thunderstorm. (Oh, geez.) Lightning struck the telephone pole directly in front of where my dad was seated. I don’t know the exact logistics of what happened, but my sister and I were unharmed and unaffected (except that my modem was fried and needed to be replaced), but my dad lost his hearing. Everything started sounding like animated falsetto voices. He got hearing aids, but they don’t really help. If I could go back and change something, I’d prevent it from happening.

2. What did you believe as a young kid that was totally silly/wrong/untrue?

I had a lot of strange hallucinatory experiences that involved seeing things literally. Our dog got hit by a car and had internal bleeding but he didn’t look injured. However, I saw him as having his tummy flattened by a tire, because that’s what I thought had happened–that he literally got run over. And in preschool, the boy sitting behind me during classtime (we were learning about vowels) tipped back in his chair too far and hit the floor. I remember seeing my preschool teachers piece the shattered chunks of his bloody skull back together and saving him. Then there was the time when I was six years old or so when I saw an eyeball about the size of an orange. It was wathcing me and then it started gliding across the room toward me in the dark. (I had insomnia that night and was killing time in the living room.) I jumped up and fled to safety, and after that point I started wondering if my life was being recorded by higher beings (like the Akashic records, or something) who were always monitoring me (and everyone else) for posterity, or something. I had a lot of deep thoughts as a kid.

3. If you had a life motto, what would it be?

I’ve got a few! “What the hell, let yourself dwell,” is a favorite of mine! It’s kind of like, well, we shouldn’t wallow in self-pity all the freakin’ time, but it’s going to happen one way or another.

Another of my mottos is that people give of themselves what they can, meaning that it’s about the other person as far as how much they can offer you or do for you. I try to remind myself of that all the time!

4. What is one thing you still hope to accomplish at some point in your life?

Hmm… I’d love to win an award or a writing contest! I get really ambitious with the NYC Midnight contests! It would make my day to go far! I’m not sure what else!

5. What is one thing you worked so hard for or dreamed of that you were able to finally achieve or acquire? Was it as good as you thought it would be?

Well, I spent over six years taking a drug called Geodon after I had a psychotic break from reality (or became schizophrenic, however you want to put it). I tried multiple times to go off of it, but I wound up terrified of the Evil Spirits every single time. Living in fear isn’t fun. The fear came at sunset and stayed until I fell asleep or the sun rose, whichever happened first. I couldn’t conquer it and had to keep taking the drug.

I do love my medicines, but Geodon took away my creativity. I spent those six-and-a-half years bored out of my mind. I also forgot I’d ever been creative and had no clue (consciously) that the Geodon was at fault. I think on some level I knew, and that’s why I kept trying to go off it.

But the fear would always come back. During that time I postulated that I’d need Geodon for my whole life, and I couldn’t find any possible solution for not needing it. I saw my whole life stretching before me with my taking Geodon as an old lady on her deathbed. It was a grim feeling. And the boredom was horrid. I spent all my time watching TV and praying that I’d never run out of television content to watch. I never wrote any books or built any rainbow-colored furniture or anything else fun.

I went on Geodon around May or June of 2005. In late 2011, I joined a local group that could best be described as a cult. I don’t hold them in the highest regard, BUT they had me doing all these daily meditations that required amazing discipline and focus. I went all in with it. During one such meditation, I suddenly understood that there are no Evil Spirits. What I was really afraid of was the darker side of human nature. I felt chilled. I had a dream that night that I was terrified of a bomb and ran from it, but then I stopped and wondered why I was afraid, and I approached it and saw that it was harmless.

With Dr. Phlegm’s help, I tapered off of Geodon over a week or two, and no matter how low I went with the dosage, the fear was gone! I couldn’t believe it. I then had a divine creative reawakening which was ruined in early 2012 when my evil sister threw me into a wall. But I digress. (She really is a bad person. I should’ve been able to enjoy rediscovering my creativity, but she took that from me.)

6. If you could have one superpower, what would your power be and why?

I’d love to be able to go to spiritual realms by leaving my body, or that sort of thing! You know, I’d love to visit the afterlife and other places without actually having to wait until my life ends and I die! That would rock. Divine connection with higher guides, soulmates, ancestors, etc., would be wonderful!

7. Can money really buy happiness? Why or why not?

It buys a lot for me because I love spending money on my rainbowy universe and also creative ventures. But the thought of having unlimited funding seems a little scary to me for some reason.

It gives me great honor to bestow the DAZZLING BLOGGER award upon Emilia and Ashley Leia! I’m also sending it back to Bosssy Babe, but no pressure! None of you are under any obligation to participate, but if you’re feeling brave, here are your seven questions!

  1. If you won the lottery, like the mega millions, would you take the payout (which is substantially less money, but you get it all at once), or would you take the money in lifetime installments (but you get the whole total… eventually)? Like, you could get 10 million dollars over a long period of time, or you can have 6 million dollars right now! What would factor into your decision?
  2. If your hair could be naturally any color (like seriously any color at all), which color would you love your hair to be?
  3. If you were stranded on a desert island, would you rather have unlimited junk food (versus living off the land) or unlimited reading material?
  4. On which day of the week were you born? Do you know this without having to google it?
  5. What’s your earliest memory?
  6. Would you rather be too hot in summer, or too cold in winter? Which would be more tolerable?
  7. Have you ever witnessed two (or more) animals engaging in lewd acts? How lewd were they?

If anyone else out there wants to play, feel free! No pressure! Thank you so much, bosssy babe!! YAY!!

  1. Thank you!

    1) I would take the one with the highest amount.
    2) I’d go with maroon hair.
    3) I don’t want to bother with living off the land, so I’d go with the junk food, although it would probably get rather old rather quickly.
    4) I thought it might be Thursday, and Google verified that, but I have no idea why I would know that.
    5) I’m not sure. I have a few memories from when I was 4, but I don’t offhand recall anything earlier than that.
6 ) I’d prefer cold. You can always put more layers on.
    7) I’m sure I’ve seen animals getting it on before, but it wasn’t memorable enough to stick in my head.

    1. Great answers! Thanks for playing! Yeah, one year at the zoo we saw some giant tortoises getting some action. It was fabulous! I took a photograph! I agree with many of your answers! Good point about the cold!!

  2. Yay, thanks so much! 🙂
    1. I’d go for the higher amount, I think, but no specific reason really.
    2. If your hair could be naturally any color (like seriously any color at all), which color would you love your hair to be?
I’ve always wanted to have black hair, but it’s too much hassle dying them regularly, so natural would be fun.
    3. If you were stranded on a desert island, would you rather have unlimited junk food (versus living off the land) or unlimited reading material?
I’d say reading material, because otherwise I’d probably get bored there quite quickly, but then junk food would probably be more practical as I don’t think I would have good enough farming/gardening skills. 😀 Wouldn’t be too impressed with eating junk food all the time, but I guess there’s enough types of it that I would still have some variety.
    4. On which day of the week were you born? Do you know this without having to google it?
Saturday, and yes, I know it better than Google ’cause my Mum told me! 😀
    5. What’s your earliest memory?
Visiting my Mum in the hospital after my brother was born, and how, even though I didn’t even meet him yet then, I already started to hate him because of the pain my Mum had to go through because of him and because of the huge needle or something like that that she had in her tummy (she had a C-section) that really scared me. Also I remember being in the lift with Dad beforehand and I suppose that was the first time I was in the lift and really didn’t like the feeling.
    6. Would you rather be too hot in summer, or too cold in winter? Which would be more tolerable?
Too cold for sure. I have better cold tolerance than heat, and it’s always a lot easier to put some cosy clothes on, have a cup of hot chocolate or a warm bath or put the heating on or make yourself a hotwater bottle when you’re freezing than strip of your clothes when you’re melting, which probably wouldn’t really help the situation anyway.
    7. Have you ever witnessed two (or more) animals engaging in lewd acts? How lewd were they?
    No, don’t think so.

    1. Great answers!! You and Ashley make good points about the cold!! Aww, your first memory is sad!! 😦 Very poignant!!

I love having black hair, too, but for me it doesn’t flatter my appearance. I’ve realized that going blond is much more attractive for my skin tone, or something!! I bet you’d be really good looking with black hair! That would rock!!

      1. Haha yeah, I actually initially got the idea from someone who told me it would fit me very well, and I was all for it as I wanted to be a Goth back then, and for a short time that I bothered with dying my hair I got a fair bit of positive feedback, so it would probably be a really fun idea if it was doable. 😀

      1. 1. My first instinct is to stretch it out but my husband the accountant would say to take the pay out and invest the money asap, which makes sense!
        2. I am obsessed with that greyish-lilac hair trend but I’d never be able to pull it off!
        3. Reading material for sure! I could live off the land! I need my sanity!
        4. I have no idea actually… Going to google it now lol hmm Tuesday… Interesting…
        5. My earliest memory was maybe 5? The house we lived in had a shed in the backyard that I remember we always thought was haunted for some reason but only bc there were lots of cobwebs I think.. Oh yes also when I was probably around 4.5 I remember a German Sheppard ran into our house and my grandmother was making eggs and for some reason she brought it to her room to hide it from the dog lol and I distinctly remember her blue floral bedsheets
        6. I feel like too hot only bc there’s always A/C .. Even though the winter you can always bundle up in, I’m tired of the cold and the snow re: walking and driving anywhere…
        7. Don’t think I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing anything like this lol

Thanks for participating! It was so fun to see your answers 🙂 you really put a lot of thought into it 😏😉😊
